Rates & Pricing Overview (2027)

All rates below are the official Hideaways Africa 2027 Recommended Selling Price (RSP) rates, last updated June 2026. The validity of rates is subject to the time of booking. For quotes and reservations contact info@hideawaysafrica.com or +27 (0) 21 671 7729 (WhatsApp +27 (0) 724 903 287).

How Hideaways 2027 rates work

Currency: Zimbabwe and Botswana lodges are priced in US Dollars (USD). South African villa properties (Cape Point Hideaway and Mariners Moon) are priced in South African Rand (ZAR).
Rate basis: Lodge rates are quoted per person, per night, sharing a room, chalet or tent (two guests sharing). Villa rates are quoted per villa, per night.
Single supplement: A solo traveller occupying a room alone pays the per-person sharing rate plus the single supplement shown for that season. No single supplement applies in Green Season.
Exclusive use: Selected lodges can be booked on a sole-use basis at a fixed nightly rate for a base number of guests, plus an additional per-person rate up to the lodge maximum. A private vehicle and guide are included on exclusive-use bookings. Important for 2027: single supplement rates apply and will be charged on exclusive-use bookings.
Seasons: Each property has its own 2027 season calendar with its own month ranges. Always check the exact date range in the property's rate table — season dates are not the same across properties.
Amava River Lodge (South Africa): The 2027 RSP rate sheet does not include Amava River Lodge. Amava's current published rate of ZAR 10 850 per person sharing per night is valid for stays from 01 March 2026 to 28 February 2027. Rates for stays from 01 March 2027 onwards have not yet been published — contact reservations for a quote.
A minimum stay of 2 nights is required for all villa bookings.
Stays over Easter Weekend require a minimum of 4 nights.
Stays during Peak Season require a minimum of 5 nights.
Baggage allowance is 15 kg per person in a soft bag, plus 5 kg of hand luggage.
No hard-case luggage is allowed on the aircraft.
Excess baggage and camera equipment must be declared and will attract an extra fee.
Maximum luggage dimensions: 30 cm (11.8 in) wide, 35 cm (13.8 in) high, 70 cm (27.5 in) long.
Passengers over 115 kg may have to purchase an extra seat — please inform Hideaways prior to travel. If not declared at reservation, an extra seat may be invoiced on arrival.
All fares are charged on a per-seat basis; the service may include unplanned stops and additional pick-ups along the route. Guests must arrive 30 minutes before the stipulated departure time or risk losing their seat without refund.
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total booking value is payable within 7 days of confirming the reservation. For the South African villas (Cape Point Hideaway and Mariners Moon), if dates fall within high season, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
Full pre-payment is required 30 days prior to travel. Bookings made less than 30 days before arrival must be paid immediately upon presentation of the invoice. No guest may check in without full pre-payment received.
A 5% surcharge applies to all payments made by credit card.
Provisional reservations are held for 7 days only, after which unconfirmed bookings are released.
Cancellation fees: once a booking is confirmed, cancellation incurs 20% of the total booking value (50% for South African villas in high season); cancellation 60–31 days before travel incurs 50%; 30–15 days incurs 75%; 14 days or less incurs 100%. No refunds are made for no-shows or unused services.
Rates are quoted in USD per person for Zimbabwe and Botswana, and in ZAR for South African properties. Hideaways reserves the right to amend quoted tariffs if VAT, levies, taxes or fuel surcharges change. Air transfer prices are linked to fuel prices and may be adjusted without prior notice.
Comprehensive travel insurance is essential for all guests.
Check-in is from 14h00 on the day of arrival; check-out is 10h00 on the day of departure. Late check-out requires prior approval from lodge management and is subject to room availability.

Shared transfer rates are per person, one way. Air transfer rates marked with * exclude the departure tax (USD 15 per person for light aircraft; USD 52 per person for helicopter flights in Zimbabwe; USD 25 per person for helicopter flights in Botswana), which is subject to change without prior notice. 2027 flight supplier rates have not yet been released — air rates include an estimated increase and will be amended once supplier rates are available.
