Overview

An intimate, eco-conscious camp on a 33 sq km concession in the World Heritage-listed Mana Pools National Park. Mhara is accessible by charter flight and is renowned for walking safaris, exceptional birding, and dramatic Chitake River escarpment views.

Location & Getting There

  • GPS: 16°14011852 S, 29°5689118 E
  • Charter flight from Harare to Ruckomechi Airstrip (~1 hr 20 min) + game drive: USD 495 pp
  • Victoria Falls/Robins Airstrip to Ruckomechi: USD 635 pp
  • Self-drive from Harare: approximately 6 hours
  • Note: Camp may be inaccessible short periods in Jan–Mar due to seasonal flooding — confirm with reservations

  • 6 en-suite tented suites with views of the Chitake River Escarpment
  • Twin beds with mosquito net

Wildlife to Expect

Elephant, Leopard, Lion, Buffalo, Painted Dog, Aardvark, Giraffe, Zebra, Hyena, Civets, and exceptional birdlife including rare Mana Pools specials.

When to Visit

  • Best: July–October (dry season; animals concentrate near water)
  • Birding: November–February (rare migratory species)

Accepted from age 12+ (pay full adult rate). Age 12+ for guided walks. Children under 12 on request (exclusive use).
