Overview

One of Hideaways' most remote and dramatic camps, Bumbusi sits on an 80,000-hectare concession in the northwest of Hwange National Park. The camp is celebrated for its natural spring-fed pool (shared with elephants), rich history, and petrified forests.

Location & Getting There

• GPS: -18°515955 S, 26°178612 E
• 4-hour drive from Victoria Falls (half of which is a game drive through the park)
• 20-minute flight from Victoria Falls to Robins Airstrip + 1.5-hour game drive to camp
• Road transfer from Victoria Falls: USD 150 pp shared

• 7 rooms (5 twin, 2 queen) with original stonework, canvas, and thatch
• Queen or twin beds with mosquito net
• Private open-air bathroom with shower/bath

Wildlife to Expect

Elephant, Leopard, Lion, Black Rhino, Buffalo, Painted Dog, Cheetah, Aardvark, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippopotamus, Hyena, and prolific birdlife.

When to Visit

• Best: July–October (dry, bush thins out, great waterhole action)
• Birding: November–April (migratory species; warmer)

Children Policy

Accepted from age 7 for game drives; age 16+ for guided walks. Bunk bed option for 2 children in 1 room.
